SUMMER SMASHDOWN
WELCOME GUIDE

Welcome to the inaugural Summer Smashdown! We're excited to have you join us this weekend. Before you arrive, please take a few minutes to read through the important information below to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable event for everyone.

Please make sure both you and your partner know your division start time and arrive on time. Late arrivals may result in forfeiting your first match or missing your scheduled warm-up.

Please ensure your DUPR account is linked to your Court Reserve profile. We need this information to log your matches.

PARKING

We have 25 dedicated parking spaces across our front and rear parking lots. If parking in the rear lot, please park only in spaces marked with Smash Dink signage. There is also free street parking.

CHECK-IN & START TIMES

Please check in at the front desk at least 5 minutes before your scheduled division start time.

Each division has a 3.5-hour time slot, which includes:

  • Warm-up

  • Player meeting & rules

  • All matches

  • Medal presentations

 

IMPORTANT: To keep the tournament running on schedule, warm-ups will begin at your scheduled division start time unless the previous division finishes early. Please bring your own warm-up balls. Match balls (Franklin X-40) will be provided.

format

All divisions will be played in a round-robin format. Our goal with every event is to maximize court time, so the format varies slightly depending on the number of teams in your division.

  • 6 teams: 5 games, played to 15

  • 7 teams: 6 games (1 bye), played to 11

  • 8 teams: 7 games, played to 11

  • 9 teams: 8 games (1 bye), played to 11

  • 10 teams: 9 games, played to 11

  • 12+ teams: Divisions will be split into two pools. You'll play a round robin within your pool, with all games played to 11. The top two teams from each pool advance to the medal rounds, consisting of a semifinal and final, both played to 11.

SCORING & MEDAL PLACEMENTS

Final standings will be determined in the following order:

  1. Total match wins

  2. Head-to-head results (between tied teams)

  3. Total points scored

DUPR REPORTING

All match results will be submitted to DUPR and uploaded by the end of the tournament day.

SPORTSMANSHIP

We're excited to have you join us for Summer Smashdown and want to emphasize the importance of maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere. Good sportsmanship and respectful conduct are expected both on and off the court. Discriminatory, abusive, or unsportsmanlike behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.

WITHDRAWALS

If you're unable to compete or need to change partners, please let us know as soon as possible emailing info@smashdinkpickleball.com. As outlined in our tournament policy, no refunds or credits will be issued for withdrawals after the July 26 cancellation deadline, regardless of the reason.
